The National Protocols for Diagnosis and Care (PNDS) are best practice guidelines for rare diseases. The aim of a PNDS is to explain to the professionals concerned the optimal diagnostic and therapeutic management and care pathway for a patient suffering from a rare disease.
The French National Authority for Health (HAS) is not involved in the preparation and design of each PNDS. However, the HAS has a right to audit the methodological quality of certain PNDS.
The HAS publishes the PNDS on its website, accessible via https://www.has-sante.fr/jcms/c_1340879/fr/protocoles-nationaux-de-diagnostic-et-de-soins-pnds
The PNDS include a “summary for the GP” section.
